December with the Port Hacking Potters

Dear Friends
I hope you can make it along to one of our events in December:

Sunday 2nd December 2012 we will be meeting from 2pm to 4pm at the Hazelhurst Regional Gallery in the pottery studio.
If you can't get to an evening meeting this is a chance to catch up and share.  Please bring a plate.  Your drinks can be purchased at the cafe or bring your own.
We will be putting together the Christmas Raffle to support Sylvanvale if you can bring a donation of non perishable goods it would be appreciated.

Wednesday 5th December 2012 is our normal meeting night and after a short formal meeting we will have supper and share a Kris Kringle, so bring along a small gift to exchange and a plate of Christmas fare to share with your pottery friends.

A stall in Cronulla Mall with work for sale by Anna, Therese, Joe, Fran, Carole and Helen.
We will also be selling tickets for our Christmas Hamper to support Sylvanvale Foundation and the draw will take place at 3.30pm on the day.

2012 TAFE Ceramic Student Prize Winners Announced

Talented students exhibited their work at the Muse Gallery Ultimo this week.  On Monday night students were awarded prizes for their creative work.

• Winner of the 2012 High Achiever's Graduating Diploma in Ceramics Award was Rodney Grossel; sponsored by  the Port Hacking Potters Group. His work displayed was titled "Waiting on Godot Street".

• Winner of the 2012  High Achiever's (2nd year) Diploma in Ceramics Award recipient was Andres Caycedo.  Sponsored by Sutherland Shire Arts Council (administered by the Port Hacking Potters Group) and the Port Hacking Potters Group.

Congratulations to all and we look forward to welcoming Rodney and Andres to the Port Hacking Potters as a one year membership was part of their prize.

Como Markets - Sunday 11th November

Members will be attending the Como Markets this Sunday 11th November 2012.

They are held at the Como Public School 1 Genoa Street Como, NSW
 from 9am to 2pm.

We hope you can drop by and perhaps buy that special gift or Christmas item.

Raffle drawn - proceeds to our Charity of Choice - Sylvanvale Foundation

Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets in the Port Hacking Potters raffle which was run in conjunction with the 47th Competition.  The Competition Exhibition closes on Wednesday but we drew the raffle today, Sunday, as we will be busy returning works and plinths on Wednesday. Proceeds will go to the Sylvanvale Foundation, the local charity we have supported for 50years.

Entries closed on Friday 14 September 2012 for this years 47th National Competition and Exhibition.

Delivery of works took  place at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery, Kingsway, Gymea NSW
on  Thursday 20th September.

The Official Opening will be at 2pm on Saturday 22nd September and the exhibition will then run to Wednesday 3rd October.

We hope you will join us for the Opening and presentations of Awards and then for refreshments in the Gallery.
