Start Christmas Shopping

members will be holding a stall in the Foyer of Sutherland Hospital this Friday 18th October from 9.30am to 3pm.


come along and start your Christmas shopping with some beautiful hand made bowls, vessels and porcelain Christmas tree hangers or some ceramic jewellery.

Thank you all who supported our stall.  It was a great success and we hope to return again in the New Year.

October Meeting

All members are invited to attend our monthly General meeting 

which is held at 7.30pm in the upstairs meeting room of the Cronulla School of Arts in Surf Road Cronulla.

A short film of Namibia will be shown, then a break for tea or coffee and a chance to chat  and share ideas and information before the business meeting.

Bring a friend, visitors are welcome.  Please bring a plate of food to share.

Membership is half price if you join now as all renewals fall due in February.

September Meeting 2013

Hi Everyone

tonight we will be showing one of our DVD's from the library that has recently been converted from VHS tape.

It will be one of the Greg Daly collection and there are others there to take on loan from the library if you wish.

Head of Ceramics Workshop - Australian National University Greg Daly is internationally known and respected as a ceramic artist specialising in rich glaze effects, and also as the author of Glazes and Glazing Techniques (1995 Simon & Schuster). His work is represented in 24 international book publications, in 80 national and international art galleries and museums (including the National Gallery of Australia and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London), and he has won 36 national and international awards.He has held over 70 solo exhibitions and was President of Craft Australia from 1992-1995. He has exhibited in over 200 international and national group exhibitions.  In 1999 he received an ARC grant to research the effect of firing cycles in the development of copper red glazes

Just an example of the other works that will be available in our Silent Auction at the Empty Bowls Project this Saturday at Kirrawee High School, Kirrawee from 12 noon to 4pm.  $20 Adults $10 for chn under 12.  Great soups from local restaurants and you get to take the bowl home empty.  Look on our Empty Bowls page for more details.  Plenty of tickets at the door.

August Meeting at Cronulla School of Arts

Dear members
I hope you can join us at our August meeting -

 Wednesday night, 7th August at 7.30pm in the upstairs meeting room at Cronulla School of Arts, Surf Road Cronulla.  Entry is via the theatre front door and take the lift to the meeting room.

Those of you who enjoyed Marjories handbuilding last month will be able to collect your little dogs which have been bisqued fired for you.



Bring along your finished bowls for the Empty Bowls Project or perhaps you have a piece to donate to the Silent Auction.

Our activity this month will be to explore our Library.  We have oodles of magazines, books and dvd's on techniques, glazes, alternative firings etc.  This is your chance to see what is there and borrow for a month.

It is also the month for members to apply to become an exhibiting member.

Visitors are welcome. Bring a plate to share for supper.

Our July meeting was to be at Hazelhurst however they will be using the pottery studio, so back to our normal time and venue, Cronulla School of Arts, Surf Road Cronulla in the upstairs meeting room at 7.30pm on Wednesday 3 July.  Bring a plate to share.

Bowl Making Afternoon for Empty Bowl Project

Members took advantage of access to the pottery studio at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre on Sunday to begin making bowls for our Empty Bowl Project to take place at Kirrawee High School on Saturday 24th August 2013.  (See tab above for more details)

Mothers Day Raffle Winner

Congratulations to Jennene, holder of orangeTicket No 84 D

who was there for the drawing and was able to take away a beautiful flowering plant which was donated by the Sydney Wildflower Nursery.

Thank you to all who purchased tickets.  

The proceeds will be donated to the Sylvanvale Foundation to continue their work with people with disability.
