March Happenings

Members and Friends are invited to our March Annual General Meeting which will be held at the Cronulla School of Arts upstairs meeting room on Wednesday 4 March at 7.30 pm.

The AGM will be followed by our monthly meeting.  Please come along and show your support.


Exhibiting Members, Anna, Janet, Sandra and Mona will be taking part in the Art of Living Festival to be held at Bundeena on Sunday 15 March 2015.  This year the festival will be held in Bundeena Oval.

February Potter of the Month

Congratulations to Rosemary Backhouse for once again being Potter of the Month

At the December meeting, Rosemary Backhouse was voted "Potter of the Month" for her beautifully burnished pot.

December Meeting and a Christmas Stall in the Mall

Dear Members and Friends

Please join us for our Christmas meeting on Wednesday 3 December at 7.30 pm in the upstairs meeting room of the Cronulla School of Arts in Surf Road Cronulla.

As is our custom, there will be a short business meeting and then a bring and share supper to catch up with your pottery friends.

Members wishing to take part in the Kris Kringle bring a wrapped gift to the value of $10

Any member wishing to become an Exhibiting Member please bring along a selection of your recent work for appraisal by the Selection Committee and notify Jamie or Gail prior to the meeting for more information.

The following Sunday 7 December members will be holding a stall in the Cronulla Mall, selling unique gifts to suit all the family and running a raffle to raise funds for the Sylvanvale Foundation who look after people with disabilities.

Do come along and support your fellow members, tell all your friends and family.  We will be there all day.

Stall and Raffle at the Cooks Community Classic 23 November 2014

We will be there all day selling beautiful unique gifts as well as the raffle tickets run as part of this event.

5th November- Meeting with Robert Linigen

Members and friends are invited to come along to our November meeting and see a demonstration on the wheel by potter, Robert Linigen.

Robert's studio was burnt out in the bush fires at Yellow Rock in October 2013.  He is working in a temporary studio while his home is rebuilt.

A gold coin donation will put you in the draw for our lucky door prize.

Thank you to all of our visitors and members who purchased tickets in our raffle at the competition.  A total of $554  was raised to support the Sylvanvale Foundation.  We would also like to thank the local businesses who generously gave vouchers as prizes.

October Meeting Wednesday 1/10/2014

Dear Members and Friends

Join us this Wednesday evening, 7.30pm at the Cronulla School of Arts upstairs meeting room, Surf Road Cronulla.

Our guest this month will be ceramic artist, Cheryl Jones.  Cheryl teaches at TAFE and in her own practise is known for her dramatic Egyptian influenced boats and use of Egyptian Paste.





We will then have a supper break, a chance to borrow from our extensive library and then a short business meeting.

48th National Pottery Competition and Exhibition worth a visit

We are delighted to have over a hundred entries in this year's competition.

While we do not have any entries this year from overseas we have had in the past.
Potter Donna Davis from America

In 2010 American potter, Donna Davis hand delivered her entry while visiting and enjoyed the experience of having her work on display in Australia.

In 2012 entries arrived from all across Australia including this beautiful delicate work from Western Australia by John Blinco which won the Decorative Techniques section.



Do join us for the Official Opening and Presentation of Awards with our Judge Patsy Hely on 

Saturday 20 September at 2pm in the Community Gallery of Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and 

Arts Centre 782 The Kingsway, Gymea NSW.

The exhibition will continue daily 10am to 5pm until the 1 October 2014.
