A big thank you to those who came along today and helped to colour our sculpture pieces...
These will be taken to our kilns at Cronulla for firing and any extra preparation.
When they are fired and constructed we hope they will be placed in a local Native Plants garden.
We await permission from our local council.
The 49th National Pottery Competition will be on display in the Gallery for just a few more days...
If you purchased a piece please come along on Wednesday to collect it.

Potter of the Month - August 2016
Congratulations to Janet Selby - Potter of the Month for August
Janet won the honour for her wheel thrown bonsai pot which has additional holes in the base for tying the bonsai plant as it is trained to shape, three feet modelled in the shape of trees and an interesting glaze.

Our National Competition is on in September with the opportunity for the public to help to make a garden sculpture.
Members are reminded that our monthly meeting for August will be held at Hazelhurst pottery studio on Sunday afternoon, 7 August from 1.30pm. Bring your work clothes while we get started on our garden sculpture.

Potter of the Month for July 2016
Congratulations to Fran on winning the title of Potter of the Month for July.
Fran's winning pot was a well thrown platter using Keane 5 Buff Stoneware and nicely glazed with a white glaze on the inside and leaving an unglazed portion on the outside wall.

Join us there again for the August meeting and bring a pot of your own to be in the running.

Major Sponsor - IMB Community Foundation
Today three members of the Competition Committee, Anna, Janet and Marjorie, travelled to Wollongong to accept the award of funds to go towards the Community Clay Open Studio events we will be running in conjunction with the 49th National Pottery Competition in September.
The IMB Community Foundation provides funds for so many worthwhile charities it is very humbling to be a recipient in 2016.
