Christmas Shopping 10th and 17th December


Looking for a special gift or perhaps a new serving dish for that special meal?

Members will have all sorts of unique articles for sale at the Ramsgate Organic Foodies and Farmers Market held at the Ramsgate Public School.

We will be there from 8am to 2pm on Saturday 10th and 17th December.. come and have a browse.. everything from jewellery to Christmas decorations and all sorts of beautiful hand made wares.

November/December Happenings

Dear Members and Friends

Our last meeting for 2016 will be held on Wednesday 7 December at 7.30pm in the Cronulla School of Arts upstairs meeting room.

A short business meeting will be followed by supper so please bring a plate of food to share. If you wish you may also take part in a lucky dip/Kris Kringle.  See your newsletter for details.

Throughout the year we have had activities at which we have promoted the our designated charity, Assistance Dogs Australia.

  We delivered a cheque and several donation collection tins plus 10 dog bowls of various sizes and colours which generous members had made for the use of the Assistance Dogs team.

The donations were gratefully received at the Engadine office...

November Meeting 2 November 2016 - next stall 27 October


Our next meeting activity will be packing the kiln with the works from the Open Studio days community clay activity... all those pieces of decorated garden sculpture need to be bisque fired..

October Meeting

Our October meeting will be Wednesday 5 October at Cronulla School of Arts in Surf Road Cronulla at 7.30pm.

Please bring some brushes with you to help with the underglazing of pieces of the sculpture still to be finished.

We now have permission from the Council for the finished works to be installed at the Sir Joseph Banks Native Plant Reserve at Kareela.

Remember to bring your pot for a go at Potter of the Month and a plate to share for supper...

Great job on the sculpture.. last days of the exhibition

A big thank you to those who came along today and helped to colour our sculpture pieces...


These will be taken to our kilns at Cronulla for firing and any extra preparation.

When they are fired  and constructed we hope they will be placed in a local Native Plants garden.
We await permission from our local council.

The 49th National Pottery Competition will be on display in the Gallery for just a few more days...

If you purchased a piece please come along on Wednesday to collect it.

Potter of the Month - August 2016

Congratulations to Janet Selby - Potter of the Month for August


Janet won the honour for her wheel thrown bonsai pot which has additional holes in the base for tying the bonsai plant as it is trained to shape, three feet modelled in the shape of trees and an interesting glaze.

We would love to have you visit our stall at the Sutherland Farmers Market on Saturday.  We will also have information about the Assistance Dogs and you can make a donation.

Our National Competition is on in September with the opportunity for the public to help to make a garden sculpture.

Members are reminded that our monthly meeting for August will be held at Hazelhurst pottery studio on Sunday afternoon, 7 August from 1.30pm.  Bring your work clothes while we get started on our garden sculpture.

Potter of the Month for July 2016

Congratulations to Fran on winning the title of Potter of the Month for July.

Fran's winning pot was a well thrown platter using Keane 5 Buff Stoneware and nicely glazed with a white glaze on the inside and leaving an unglazed portion on the outside wall.

Fran is pictured here with the winning pot at our July meeting in the pottery studio at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery.

Join us there again for the August meeting and bring a pot of your own to be in the running.

Major Sponsor - IMB Community Foundation

Today three members of the Competition Committee, Anna, Janet and Marjorie, travelled to Wollongong to accept the award of funds to go towards the Community Clay Open Studio events we will be running in conjunction with the 49th National Pottery Competition in September.

The IMB Community Foundation provides funds for so many worthwhile charities it is very humbling to be a recipient in 2016.
