Hands in Clay - Members Exhibition November - December 2024

 

Our exhibition was very successful. The number of exhibiting members taking part was 30. Of these several gained their exhibiting status specifically to be able to exhibit with us. The number of works on display was 79. Some of these were multiples with one entry made up of 33 chess set pieces.

The People’s Choice Award was also extremely popular with the viewers. The winner was Kate Combes with her entry titled “Elara: Whispers of the Earth 2023”. A beautiful bust with floral decorations of sprigs and slips in muted tones. The prize was a voucher donated by Sirens Pottery N Supplies to the value of $100 plus a cash amount of $50 provided by PHP Inc.

Congratulations to all of the participants.  The high standard and variety of forms and finishes was a tribute to you and our association.

As part of our exhibition program, we also conducted a Try It Out event free to the public.

This took place in the pottery studio, and we thank Hazelhurst for allowing us to use their facilities for the day. Those attending were able to either make some decorations to take home or try out the pottery wheel to make a bowl under the guidance of our members.
